S & L Peterson Farms is a family-owned agricultural business rooted in a rich farming heritage that dates back to 1890 in Sabula, Iowa. Founded by Lori Welsh, the daughter of Shirley and Larry Peterson, our farm pays tribute to their legacy. Larry, fondly known as "Big Pete" in the local community, and Shirley nurtured the farm, expanding it to over 1300 acres of fertile soil, blessed by the nearby sparkling river lands.

We are committed to preserving and enhancing the land we inherited. Lori, along with her son Michael, proudly carries forward the family's farming tradition. Our inspiration led to the creation of S & L Peterson Farms and the introduction of our farm-grown, organic products under the esteemed Big Pete's brand.

As we look to the future, we are poised for growth. In addition to our existing line of Big Pete's products that cater to various family health and wellness needs, we are thrilled to expand into produce and other specialty crops. We are also diversifying our livestock offerings, including grass-fed cattle, goats, sheep, swine, chickens, turkeys, and North Pacific White shrimp.
